The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Strategists tables.
